In the days ago we learned that megalopolis is defined as a number of cities connected by a series of services and functions. Dear children, during our last lesson, we discussed migration, meaning those people who for various reasons decide to move a location other than their own. Today I bring to your attention the issue of refugees and displaced persons.

The most recent waves of immigration have involved both illegal migrants who intended to perform the most menial jobs and now rejected by local workers. The changes of the population but are also due to famines or wars that are fought in the land of origin of migrants. The UN defines a refugee who " in well-founded fear of persecution on grounds of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or for reasons of political opinion, is outside of their country of origin not ensure the safety ". To care for the refugees and the UNHCR (High Commissioner UN High Commissioner for Refugees). The phenomenon is increasing. The largest number of refugees come from African states that are also characterized by political instability.
